Concentrating on plastics reduction

Derby-based commercial cleaning company,Office Care, has reaffirmed its commitment to the environment with the launch of a number of new initiatives set to dramatically reduce the company's carbon footprint.

Office Care, which services more than 200 clients, recently conducted an environmental audit, which highlighted that high levels of plastic waste were being generated and sent to landfill.

This prompted it to make the switch to concentrated cleaning products, with smaller containers.

"Since switching our cleaning products, we have more than halved the amount of plastic waste that we generate," says Martin Booth, MD.

The company has also invested in the latest microfibre cloths which rarely require the use of chemicals.

"As a commercial cleaning company,we can make a real difference to the environment by making simple changes,"ends Booth.
