Sachets save over 16000 litres of cleaning solution
24 June 2019
London-based cleaning specialist Cleanology is saving 16,092 litres of cleaning solution each year, through the use of pre-portioned biotechnology cleaning sachets.

The company was the first in the UK to introduce sachets, as part of its commitment to chemical-free cleaning, reducing waste and driving down overheads for customers. Since the switch, Cleanology usage has fallen dramatically, from 16,200 litres per year, to just 108 litres – a saving of 99.4%.
CEO Dominic Ponniah said: “Using too much product is wasting valuable resources. An extra cupful of solution every couple of days might not seem disastrous, but if you multiply that over a year and across the 450,000 people working in the industry, and the impact becomes significant.
“The cleaning firm ends up buying larger quantities of product and paying more to transport it, not to mention the environmental impact of extra journeys, waste generation and the unnecessary manufacture of products.”
Cleanology monitors all aspects of its environmental footprint and works hard to reduce waste and energy usage. In 2019 it aims to be the first cleaning company in the UK to introduce uniforms manufactured from recycled plastic.
