Fights gum & grime

21 October 2016

Chewing gum and ingrained grime has long been a problem for councils, landlords and custodians of large areas open to the public, with its removal proving difficult, time consuming and costly.

Up until now the accepted solution has been jet washing or spot steaming, explains Addex Group.

"The concern with jet washing is that the water is sprayed everywhere, it destroys the grout and all diluted residue is shifted into the gutter or drains," the company says.

It adds: "Spot steaming stubborn gum deposits works, but not when faced with high densities and often marks are still left behind. However after much development in Germany there is now an effective commercial solution for us here in the UK."

Addex Group are the sole UK distributors of the MV700 ‘Gladiator’ a steam cleaning device with a working width of 2’ 4’’ and capable of total removal of gum and grime in one pass. The Gladiator is hand crafted in stainless steel and built for the challenge, it uses low pressure steam and natural bio-degradable detergents. This combination works deep into the surface, removing the gum, grime and contaminates. The waste is then vacuumed up for a controlled disposal.
