Countdown to the 'toilet oscars'
12 October 2016
The 2016 Tork Loo of the Year Awards grading has now been completed following inspection of ‘away from home’ toilets throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
High standards of cleaning and maintenance performed by in-house cleaners, cleaning contractors and FM companies were evidenced during their inspection visits.
Use of the latest products and processes and the improvements in design and the quality of fixtures and fittings are also recognised. User’s needs are the basis of the Loo of the Year Awards judging criteria requiring attractive as well as functional facilities to meet all of user’s personal requirements. Hygienic services that minimise the risk of infection transfer whilst also saving energy continue to become more prevalent.
There were high levels of entries across sixty entry categories with shopping centre entries continuing to increase each year. The corporate entrants recognise the value of gaining prestige and recognition of their brand, and importantly their employee’s efforts, as a result of achieving awards. Entrants also use the awards grading to benchmark their toilet provision performance against competitors and can use the awards success as a real benefit when in negotiations with customers and prospects.
Every entry was inspected and graded by a team of trained and experienced inspectors against established criteria for each and every type of toilet.
The awards presentation ceremony will take place on Friday 2nd December at St Johns Hotel in Solihull. There will be a sparkling wine reception, four course lunch with wine, supplier exhibition, entertainment by international comedian Peter Piper and networking opportunities.
