JPC Cleaning Services won 'The Best Cleaned Premises in an External Pedestrian Area including Street Furniture' for Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work at the 2015 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards. Guest services manager Sandrino Vieira offers an insight into why they deserved the recognition
Chiswick Park is a 33 acre business community in West London, where 8,000 employees from 45 of the world’s most prestigious brands benefit from programmes and services delivered by the onsite facilities team – Enjoy-Work.
Now in our tenth year onsite, JPC has built a solid package of cleaning programmes designed to deliver a pro-active approach and consistency across all areas of the park. We recognise that the key to our success is providing industry-leading customer service and understanding that the members of our team are at the forefront for creating an 'experience' for our onsite guests and visitors.
The JPC team is focused on taking the initiative and presenting ideas and innovations that can help them not only to do their work better, but also to improve the physical appearance of the park. Each member of our team works as an integral part of the operation to ensure we offer a client-orientated service which we pride ourselves upon and are continually measuring against.
Our approach enables the guest companies to be able to relish and enjoy the unique surroundings the park has to offer – in addition to the thousands of visitors from the local community who come to Chiswick Park to enjoy the various sporting and entertainment events throughout the year.
Wildlife & weather challenges
Our estate team’s main focus is to deliver cleaning to the external pedestrian areas of the park. The park is divided into different sections in which a dedicated, experienced and fully trained team member takes complete ownership to ensure high standards are maintained at all times.
Even with such a robust structure in place there are always daily challenges to face. Local residents, noise restrictions and pedestrian/vehicle traffic to name a few. Indeed, our main focus is the guests at the park; we take them into consideration when performing/planning each and every aspect of the operation to ensure any disruption to their respective business is kept to a minimum.
Seasonal changes are also a big factor for the team. The spring and summer months bring an array of wildlife such as Canadian geese which leave “debris” around the park. The autumn sees falling leaves from the trees and in winter the rain, ice and snow result in slippery surfaces and hazardous conditions.
To respond to these challenges we have a detailed pressure washing programme that works all year round. Team members operate the machinery, which improves the image of the park with clean walkways and also enhances our guest experience by making the park look aesthetically pleasing at all times.
Team engagement
There are also numerous challenges and factors outside of our control but our onsite team are committed to delivering the very best in standards. The secret behind this success is a well-trained, motivated, passionate and fully engaged team.
The JPC team has established a strong mindset based on customer service. Each team member is encouraged to lead by example, take responsibility and go the extra mile for our guests.
Through our JPC training and development programs the entire team is driven to take pride in their work and to encompass attention to detail so that our guests can focus their efforts on their business. The customer-focused, integrated and collaborative approach of the team is constantly recognised and rewarded through schemes such as the 'WOW Moment' or the 'Captain’s Program' where we recognise those individuals who have made a truly positive contribution and added value to the operation.
