Green light for industry merger

02 December 2013

On 28th November, the board of Asset Skills voted in favour of the proposed merger with the Facilities Management Association (FMA) and the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA).

Part of a vision to create a new and consolidated industry body, the new organisation will be a membership body which educates, represents and supports service providers and service users, and which views the end user as an integral part.

Asset Skill chief executive Sarah Bentley said: "I’m very pleased to announce that the merger now has formal approval. This means that we can forge ahead with our exciting plans. The merger is just the start of a vision for the future of representation in the industry, and consolidation will not end with these three organisations.

I would like to thank everyone involved in the planning of the merger for the tremendous support, hard work and vision. We still have a long way to go, but this is a major milestone which is worth celebrating.”
