Rug Doctor, provider of do-ityourself carpet cleaning machines, has announced exceptional sales and rental figures in 2011, as well as revealing its plans for growth in 2012.

Despite difficult times in the retail flooring industry with Carpetright recently issuing its sixth profit warning within a year, Rug Doctor has reported a growth in sales for 2011 of 14% compared to 2010, with machine rentals up by 11.6%. So far this year, total revenue is up 16% overall.

"Rug Doctor has enjoyed yearon- year growth for the past five years, despite the credit crunch, the recession and a eurozone crisis," says Kuldip Dosanjh, MD.

"This is rarely heard of in UK business nowadays and, as a result, I would go as far as to say that the Rug Doctor rental programme is recession proof.

"Those who would typically replace their carpets when they start looking tired and worn, are now cleaning them." Rug Doctor will be launching a new carpet cleaning machine this spring alongside several new detergents and cleaning solutions.
