Alcohol rubs raise questions

According to Teal Handwash, research shows alcohol rubs are only of use on already-clean hands and also fail to kill the majority of contaminants including the clostridium difficile of norovirus.

Alcohol gels and foams rapidly decontaminate clean hands if they are used correctly.However, the alcohol content of the hand rub must be at least 60% to be effective.
Teal recommends hand washing with warm water and liquid soap, using a recognised technique, will remove transient organisms.
