Finalists announced for the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards 2018

08 November 2017

The organisers of the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards, which recognise excellence in the cleaning industry, have announced the finalists for 2018.

A total of 57 finalists from 36 companies are to be congratulated. The announcement follows the first stage of judging carried out independently by The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc). This year the standard of entries across the 14 categories spanning healthcare, office, education, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, environmental and training sectors all exceeded expectations. Peter Oliver, general manager UK, Ireland and France, Kimberly-Clark Professional, said: “We are very proud to announce the finalists for the 2018 Golden Service Awards. Kimberly-Clark Professional is committed to driving high standards in the washroom and is passionate about creating Exceptional Workplaces. We set up the Awards to recognise excellence and inspire the raising of standards which we can see demonstrated through high levels of first-rate entries from across the cleaning industry.”

The finalists will now go through to the next stage of judging which for most categories includes a site visit by a BICSc judge. The site visits will take place during November and December and the judging panel are looking for innovation, staff training, and client relationships as the main criteria to be assessed.

The judges work to the BICSc Best Value document before they carry out their site visits. In addition, there will be a head judge and a compliance officer.

BICSc' chief executive officer Stan Atkins said: “Congratulations to all finalists. The standard of entries was exceptionally high with evidence of clear innovations and achievements across the industry. The judges look forward to meeting the finalists at the site visits, and it is important to stress that they will be judging standards achieved and not just whether the entry specifications are followed.”

BICSc is overseeing all stages of the judging. An independent judge has been appointed for the BICSc Industry Training Award, in the interests of fairness.

The winners will be announced at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday 8 March 2018. Over 500 guests including finalists and sponsors are expected to come together to celebrate the latest achievements of the UK’s cleaning and FM industry.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry to demonstrate their innovation and achievements to the industry. We look forward to seeing all the finalists along with many of our industry peers to celebrate their achievements at the awards ceremony next March,” Peter Oliver added.

“We wish all the finalists of the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards 2018 the best of luck!”
