Countdown to healthcare cleaning conference
21 April 2016
The Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals (ahcp), will hold its 2016 Professional Development Forum from 8th to 10th June at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire.
Delivering under Pressure is the theme of the event at which a programme of interactive sessions, workshops and presentations will be accompanied by a trade show featuring suppliers of products, equipment and services to the cleaning sector.
The programme begins with an interactive training session to be delivered by ahcp training lead Delia Cannings. More interactive workshops will focus on issues of strategic cleaning, infection control and the environment. The aim is to help improve an individual’s understanding of the issues they could be dealing with in the future.
The workshops will look at the topics from three distinct angles, each led by experts from different parts of the industry: a representative from the CQC, a CEO and a commissioner will each present their thoughts and experiences. Having listened to all three viewpoints, delegates will be split into smaller groups to develop solutions and collaborative approaches, all of which will be discussed at the end of the day, with the opportunity to further quiz the three presenters.
Liz Jones, head of patient environment at the Department of Health will deliver a key note presentation focusing on the Lord Carter Review and cleaning efficiency. Other presentations include A Practical Approach to Discharge & Deep Cleaning, delivered by Anna Hallas, national domestic manager and infection control lead for Compass Group, Margaret Graham, support services manager at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Karen Older, support services manager at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Nadra Ahmed OBE, chairman of the National Care Association will discuss how care home cleaning is developing and how issues such as infection control are being tackled.
Exhibitors will have their chance to take to the stage with the popular ‘Exhibitors Under Pressure’ feature, which challenges exhibitors to present their latest product innovations against the clock.
