Filling line meets demand

24 November 2014

RP Adam has begun a major 24 month capital investment programme, starting with the installation and commissioning of a new multi-head filling line at its Selkirk factory base.

The addition of the filling line along with reconfiguration of existing plant will increase current output capacity by up to 25% which is needed as a result of sustained volume growth over the last couple of years.

Having invested significantly in its manufacturing plant in Dubai two years ago, the UK parent company is now gearing up for further new business gains both at home and abroad.

For many years the UK hospitality sector has been the main pillar of the company’s sales base but it has developed significantly into the residential care sector, which is growing at 20% per annum currently. The new Adelphi S1000 filling line has the capability of filling any bottle size between 250 – 1000mls and can fill more than 30 bottles per minute allowing the company to turn production orders around far more quickly.

An additional uplift in productivity however has come from the investment in re-configuring existing filling lines to boost their capability to fill 5litre containers, which still accounts for more than 60% of the annual output volume.
