The journey began on the 4^th September in 1972 by Graham and Jacqualine Bultitude. Their first premises was located in Backfields, St Pauls in Bristol. The demand for premium quality batteries and associated products, exceptional value and BBL’s legendary service excellence meant that it wasn’t long before the company outgrew the Backfields premises. A much large premises, located in Newfoundland Road provided the solution.  50 years & two moves later BBL have a network of 5 branches covering the Southwest, with their Head Office still situated in central Bristol.

One of the key developments within the business was the establishment of their in-house battery assembly facility.  One of the largest in the Southwest the state of the art department allows them to create battery packs in any configuration for any application be it a portable sheep shears, bait boat batteries, wireless door closers, pool table ball releasers, & now able to work with lithium the options are endless.
