Slip resistance in busy areas

04 January 2016

Decorative Polysafe safety flooring has been installed at Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s new Jigsaw Building where the Oncology, Haematology and Women’s Health departments are now based.

2600m² of Polysafe Wood fx PUR and Polysafe Modena PUR sheet vinyl safety flooring with micro-granite decoration was fitted throughout circulation areas, corridors, treatment rooms and reception areas to provide a homely and less clinical environment.

The flooring has also provided sustainable wet slip resistance in busy, public areas where there is a risk of water spillage. Both ranges incorporate clear aluminium oxide safety particles through the performance layer of the vinyl which are virtually invisible to the naked eye, ensuring an attractive yet safe floor finish.

Pam Griffiths from Royal Bournemouth Hospital said: “Polysafe flooring was the ideal choice for creating a fresh and clean look throughout our new Jigsaw Building that was a step away from the traditional, clinical look. The safety credentials of these floorcoverings give us confidence that we have created a safe environment for both our patients and staff in this new facility.”
