15th May – World FM Day 2019

13 May 2019

On 15th May 2019 the global facilities management community will come together to celebrate the FM industry as part of World FM Day.

But Global FM, the alliance for facilities management (FM) associations worldwide, is encouraging the worldwide FM community to celebrate any day of the week of 13th to 17th May.

This year’s theme is 'Celebrating Global ISO FM Standards', which acknowledges the milestone of creating the ISO 41000 series of Standards and Technical Report focused on the global FM industry.

“Developing ISO Standards is a massive game changer for our industry,” said Duncan Waddell, chairman of Global FM. “These standards represent a significant step forward in the standardisation of FM management professional practices internationally.

“Facilities Management is a US$1.15 trillion global industry, with 65,000 professional and industry participants worldwide. World FM Day celebrates the significant contribution that FM makes to the global economy.”

The purpose of World FM Day, initiated by Global FM, is to recognise the vital work that facilities management professionals and the facilities management industry contribute to business worldwide, and to celebrate their successes.

It also aims to raise the profile of the FM profession, not just in member regions, but anywhere FMs influence the health, safety, productivity and well-being of people who utilise the built environment.

There are events happening all over the globe; find out more at globalfm.org/events/.
