A-Plant is also now a member of the British Ladder Manufacturers Association (BLMA). The Height Safety Training business has been trading for two and a half years and in that time has climbed from 9th to 6th in the performance league of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) out of a total of 95 IPAF accredited centres, in terms of licences awarded to customers. The Height Safety Training business is also accredited by the Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association (PASMA). The one-day PASMA certified access tower training courses offered by A-Plant are growing in popularity and are held either at customer locations or A-Plant depots around the country. The new Gatwick location is a dedicated PASMA training centre, whilst the Staines centre offers both IPAF and PASMA training courses. The BLMA was established in 1947 and membership puts A-Plant at the heart of an organisation that works closely with the Health & Safety Executive, the Department of Trade and Industry and the British Standards Institute, to ensure that the voice of both the consumer and the industry is heard during the formulation and revision of legislation relating to access equipment throughout Europe. Later this year,A-Plant is planning to introduce Safe Use of Ladder training courses to A-Plant customers. The A-Plant Height Safety Training Centre complements the company's powered access hire fleet,by offering a series of one day powered access training courses as a support service to A-Plant customers. Reflecting the growing importance of safety training on access platforms, the courses cover safety training on a range of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP's) such as scissor lifts, self propelled booms, trailer mounted booms and personnel lifts.
