Tow tractor's bin busy March 1st 2006 A tow tractor from Bradshaw Rental Vehicles is reducing the time it takes to move waste at flats in Kingston upon Thames by moving three bins at a time.
Previously, they had been moved manually, one at a time.
"The bins have to be moved from the basement, up a ramp to ground level three times a week. There are 450 flats in nine blocks and each block has two bins," explains Royal Quarter Estate manager, Craig Ross.
"The tow tractor has cut down the time to do the job and freed up the yard men to carry out other jobs on site. The vehicle is also used to transport heavy loads around the site - such as grit and appliances that have been dumped. It is exactly what is needed."
