Swallows cigarette ends
April 1st 2004

Smiling now, but debt recovery agent, Sian Foster, had to pay a 50 fine last year after a Calderdale Council Warden spotted her dropping her cigarette end after stepping outside during a break from work. The incident highlights the issue of where smokers can and cannot smoke and what to do with unwanted cigarette ends. Walter Page (Safeways) has come up with a low cost, attractive solution. At just 90 each and available in five colours, the Smokers Cease-Fire is a simple solution that is suitable for public areas such as offices, shops, factories, hotels, sports centres and transport terminals, inside and out. Cigarette ends are simply dropped into the unit through a small covered opening that keeps rain out and discourages litter from being dropped inside, reducing the risk of fire and keeping the area around the unit clean and tidy.
