Vinyl flooring specialist,Gerflor, has introduced what it says is a realistic alternative to wood that is water resistant and reduces noise.

Nera Contract Wood is a multilayer floorcovering that has a compacted under layer reinforced with glass fibre and finished and protected with a printed design and a transparent wood grain embossed wear layer.

This is said to give it the appearance and feel of a genuine wood surface.Available in 14 different wood tones, it is said to be easier to clean and maintain than laminates and other wood derivatives.

The range is complemented by Nera Contract Pixel,which has the same features, except that its transparent wear layer is encrusted with particles, giving it a crystallised design.
