Nestlé York has bought an NSS Wrangler 3330 pedestrian scrubber drier from SRS Cleaning Equipment to replace a Wrangler 27 that operated in Coco Processing Green for the last 11 years.

Once a machine enters this department, it cannot be removed until it needs replacing. Nestlé receives cocoa beans from across the world.When these are harvested, they are allowed to ferment by the roadside covered in leaves an exposed to the elements.

Although the beans are fumigated the company cannot be sure that all insects and so on have been killed.

The Green area of Cocoa Processing is, therefore, treated as a high risk area that cleaning machines can only leave at the end of their working life.

SRS has also installed scrubber driers in Nestlé’s Choc Elec and Melangeur areas where they help to maintain floors to a high standard.
