Available from Foothealthcare.com, Spikys are rubber straps that fit over any shoe or boot to prevent slipping when there is snow or ice on the ground.

They are manufactured from 76% natural rubber and 24% highgrade synthetic rubber, which gives them the ability to stretch to 6.5 times their original length and allows them to accommodate a limitless variety of footwear.

There are a number of small perforations in the rubber, which help to increase the elasticity of the straps. This is said to allow for optimum comfort and allows the Spikys to be worn all day without pinching or squeezing the foot.

There are no buckles or straps.

Instead, an easy-to-use heel tab allows the device to be put on or removed quickly and without fuss.

Spiky covers the sole of the shoe; Spiky Plus covers the sole and heel.
