Eurostar contract December 1st 2004 More than seven million people pass through the Eurostar terminals at Waterloo and Ashford International each year.OCS Transport has won the UK contract to clean both terminals and the trains arriving at Waterloo which are booked to re-enter passenger service.
The prestigious contract with Eurostar expands OCS’s portfolio of services and represents the company’s most significant gain outside the aviation industry and has resulted in the creation of a specialist rail division.
Chris Cracknell, chief executive of OCS says:The contract involves ongoing cleaning at the international terminal in addition to cleaning of the trains, which require a very quick turnaround.
Each train is a quarter of a mile long and must be cleaned throughout in just 25 minutes and there can be more than 30 trains a day.
We now employ more than 2000 dedicated staff who go to every length to ensure that OCS delivers a faultless service to the airline and rail industries. Chris continues. More than 100 of these staff are employed full time on the Eurostar contract alone. More articles from OCS Group UK Ltd.: |
