Electric units pop up in fleet
April 1st 2007

AFI-Uplift is investing an additional £12 million to expand its powered access fleet by a further 800 machines, the majority of them being small electric units, in particular the Pop Up model, suitable for cleaning contractors.

"The Pop Up machines will take AFI into new areas of the market," says AFI director, Nick Selley.

"It is a very cost-effective solution to meet the health and safety requirements for low level access work because it can be easily pushed around and operated by one person." He added: "The Health and Safety Executive are now taking a more active interest in the internal fitting out stage of construction projects, and they are now requiring powered access to be the preferred option over ladders."
