Colour coded hygiene wipes
June 1st 2006

3M has developed a range of Scotch-Brite colour-coded, disposable wipes for use in health care environments to help reduce the risk of cross-contamination. The wipes, which comply with the National Colour-Coded System adopted by the NHS, as outlined in the National Cleaning Standards for Hospitals manual, are already in use within several hospitals.

Andy Fernley, Product Manager for Scotch-Brite Cleaning Products, reports, "Cleaners who use the new wipes say that they have been easy to integrate within the colourcoded system. What's more, the workers find carrying the tubs much easier than having to carry out several types of cloth and bottles of chemicals or sprays".

Each cloth has been impregnated with a pre-dosed amount of chemical. This provides the cleaner with peace of mind that the appropriate amount of chemical is used, obviating over-use and wastage.
