Water saving RO system
April 1st 2006

Ionic Systems showcased its Pro-7 Reach & Wash system with water saving zero-reject reverse osmosis at the Windex expo in March The latest addition to the Ionic stable, the Pro-7 incorporates advanced zero-reject RO (reverse osmosis) technology - at a time when water use is becoming a serious issue for UK window cleaners, particularly in the South East.

In addition, for window cleaners using water meters, water down the drain can be an unforeseen and considerable cost. With at least one water company now able to compel water users to use meters, this issue is likely to become even more important.

Normally and RO system will reject about 60% of the incoming water. The Pro-7 features a specially designed sixth filter that removes the RO damaging impuurities so that 100% of the reject water can be recirculated back through the RO membrane.

The ability to utilise 100% of the input water in this way will allow the window cleaner to make the most of the RO system: cost effective handling of hardwater - but without the need for a drain outlet. This feature has allowed mobile use of the Pro-7 concept, and as well as van and trailer mounted systems, Ionic is also manufacturing a Pro-7 mobile trolley.

Pro-7 will be manufacturerd in systems up to 1,000 litres, as Thermopure (using heated purified water) and as a mobile trolley unit.
