Online calculator for water savings
June 1st 2011 PHS Washrooms has launched a
campaign to challenge facilities
managers to 'cut
costs twice'on
water bills.
The idea comes
from information
published by
WRAP that said:
"Few businesses identify water as a
raw material that is paid for twice,
to receive it and to take away the
waste."
Water charges are volume
based and, according to PHS
Washrooms, billions of litres of
water are flushed needlessly every
year at significant expense.
To support the 'cut costs twice'
campaign,PHS offers an online
calculator that can
quantify water
savings. It uses
basic information
about the site,
such as number of
toilets or urinals
and hours of operation.By
entering the rate for water and
sewerage,average default figures
in lieu of that detail are provided.
