Hot water too aggressive? October 1st 2007 Deionised water is gently
aggressive and cleans glass
effectively by removing dirt and
breaking down surface tension –
but in some case water alone is
not enough.While some in the
industry favour heating pure
water,Aquafactors Direct (AfD)
claims it can be too aggressive:
Heating gradually evaporates
the oxygen content of water
while doubling the potency of
the carbon dioxide with every
10°C rise in temperature.The
company says this can have long
term adverse effects on frames
and surfaces susceptible to
corrosion.AfD advocates
specialist chemicals instead.
The company's range consists
of three chemicals which can be
used with poles and one hand
applied product, Crystal Clear
500, which can tackle mineral
deposits and stage 1 corrosion
problems and bring back glass
to its original condition.
The other products are a vinyl
cleaner and protectant, as well
as a powerful cleaner for awning
both fabric and vinyl.Deep
Clean will even remove tree sap
and exhaust pollution without
affecting colour.
Aluma Wash is formulated to
clean building fascias and
cladding. It is non-corrosive and
will cut through traffic film and
heavily soiled surfaces.
AfD has a Tucker chemical
doser which makes using
chemicals with its poles
straightforward.Dosing ratios
can be changed as necessary
and the dual hose facility can
give immediate rinse off as
required. More articles from Aquafactors Direct Limited: |
