BCC sponsors summit and awards
August 1st 2005

As a corporate sponsor of the World Toilet Summit and Loo of the Year Awards, the BCC is excited to be taking part in the Belfast Summit.

The British Toilet Association (BTA) is one of BCC’s 16 members and we are delighted to be supporting the event’s western debut.

The British Cleaning Council is the voice of the UK cleaning industry. It was established in 1982 to coordinate the affairs of the industry and to be responsible at home and abroad on industry matters.

The council provides a forum for its member bodies (of trade associations, research and education institutions) to meet and work together to raise the profile of the industry. It also promotes and encourages improvements in health, hygiene and general cleanliness standards.

In the past year it has become involved with key organisations such as: the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the Association of British Insurers (ABI), the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and Transport & General Workers’ Union (TGWU) to forge joint solutions to industry issues.

Along with Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions, the BCC co-owns the Cleaning Show. This is a wellregarded exhibition held at the NEC in Birmingham every two years, and is now a highlight of the international cleaning industry calendar.

The British Cleaning Council also organises the biennial ‘Britain's Cleanest City’Awards Scheme. The competition finale coincides with The Cleaning Show, which last took place on 1st March 2005.

Our members organise key industry conferences and award ceremonies including: the British Cleaning Industry Conference (BCIC); the Building Cleanability Awards; the Golden Service Awards; and the Loo of the Year Awards.

Further information on BCC or any of its members can be found at: www.britishcleaningcouncil.org
