Local tissue plant for Russia December 1st 2008 Metsä Tissue, is continuing to
expand its activities in Russia with
a converting plant in Naro
Fominsk, 70km from Moscow.
"The start-up
of local
converting
operations near
Moscow is a
logical and
important
strategic step
towards
developing our
business
activities in
Russia," says
Hannu Kottonen Metsä Tissue's
CEO.
The positive development of
the Russian economy and the
demand for higher standards of
comfort within a modern retail
trade have encouraged Metsä to
expand from exports to local
production.Currently the new
converting plant consists of two
production
lines.
The first is
dedicated to
the Away-from-
Home
products, the
second line is
for the
company's
consumer
products. Local
production
now ensures enhanced product
availability, shorter transport
distances and a smaller
environmental footprint. More articles from Metsa Tissue Ltd: |
