Shielding unpleasant smells
April 1st 2011

PHS Washrooms has launched a new version of Eco-shield, the product designed to improve the environment in and around urinals by curing typical washroom problems at the source.

The Eco-shield urinal sleeve features a one-way odour lock 'shield', providing a physical barrier to any odours returning from the trap or waste pipework.

Within the unit there are two replaceable blocks; the Nurazyme bio-block and a 'red berry' fragrance block. The bacteria and enzymes digest the uric salts in the waste that cause the unpleasant odour and to fight malodours further.

The new design has an adjustable grill, allowing the flushed water flow to be controlled through the Nurazyme block to enable the unit to operate at the optimum dispersal rate for the usage of the urinal. As the Nurazyme bioblock is flushed, it carries bacteria and enzymes into the waste trap where they continue to consume the salts and address the malodours.

Eco-shield works in conjunction with flush control products to reduce the frequency required for flushing.

The suggested flush frequency for urinals fitted with Eco-shield is every two hours, so the bacteria have time to work.

The new shield can be fitted in all standard urinals and also troughs.
