Showing the way in servicing
April 1st 2009

DIY servicing, outsourcing or a blend of both was the new offer from Trade Hygiene

Trade Hygiene reckons it was one of the busiest stands at this year's Cleaning Show and is currently processing hundreds of good quality leads.

The self service, biodegradable BioBin was the most popular product on Trade Hygiene's stand, but there has also been strong interest in the multipurpose eBins and highspeed/ low temperature SpeedFlow and DualFlow hand dryers.

"This year's Cleaning Show was the first major opportunity Trade Hygiene has had to test its offer of DIY servicing, outsourced servicing or taking a blended approach, on such a large scale," says Mary Neaves, commercial director at Direct Hygiene (Trade Hygiene's parent company)."We had a big response from PCTs and universities in particular, but plenty of resellers with medium-to-large accounts could see the potential of our offer for their businesses as well. Our feet haven't touched the ground since we got back from the show and I'm sure Trade Hygiene will be back in 2011!" Cleaning Matters also spoke to Trade Hygiene's director, Roger 'Mr Sanibin'Dickinson. He was having a great time on the stand and had a few words for non-attendees.

"Two years ago when times were much more buoyant, people didn't have time to come to the show, which is fair enough – but now it seems that some can't be bothered. People need to support the show – otherwise it won't exist. This is their industry and they should make the effort. Everyone here is enthusiastic, they've got good stands and they're working hard. It's a pleasure to be here meeting so many people." Dickinson said that the company's aim for the show was,"to launch Trade Hygiene as one of the main distributors." He also discussed the reasons for the greener direction of products, in particular the BioBin Sanitary bin which features a completely disposable cartridge, consisting of sack and lid, which is simply removed and replaced.

"We felt it was important. People are aware that plastic bags can last 10 -15 years. With the BioBin, the sack and the lid break down after about two years. We're concentrating on the environmental push, without the environmental 'kick' of extra costs." The BioBin is the first sanitary disposal bin to receive a Carbon Footprint rating.
