Turning up the heat on fire safety
December 1st 2010

Swiftclean's half-day seminar called 'Improving Fire Safety in High-Rise Housing'was well received by the delegates that attended it.

Chris Foster of Burgoynes gave examples of fire prevention regulations and provided guidance on how best to achieve compliance.

Simon Ince of Warrington Certification explained the benefits and importance of fire risk assessment and advised delegates on how to choose a fire risk assessor.

Martin Hembling, group director of Swiftclean explained the vital necessity of maintaining common ventilation ducts in highrise and low-rise housing blocks.

Martin described how, when dirt and debris accumulates in the ductwork, it can contribute to the spread of fire through the communal extract system.

Extensive question and answer sessions followed these presentations.
