A new approach to conventional training
May 1st 2005

Changes in legislation and today’s compensation culture make it essential that companies provide adequate staff training as part of their ‘duty of care’ and to avoid costly litigations or fines. Staff trained to a high standard can also increase the companies’ competitive edge as customers expect that service companies will provide suitably qualified and trained staff to undertake the contract work.

The importance of training is often overshadowed by other issues such as time, budgetary constraints, staff availability and commercial pressures. Understanding the difficulties that companies and colleges experience when releasing their staff for formal training, an Interactive Cleaning CD has been developed to allow staff to take control of their own learning, thus providing a more effective and efficient training medium.

The CD is complete with interactive lessons, voice over, graphics, photos and animation. A review the end of each module reinforces and tests the candidates’ knowledge. Project sheets in the accompanying workbook provide either the record of knowledge evidence, if undertaking the NVQ level 1 or as a training record held by the company to show ‘duty of care’, if the program is used as an induction or refresher course.

Personnel unfamiliar with computers quickly adapt to this learning medium, developing basic computer skills through the interactive lessons. This type of ‘blended learning’ allows a range of benefits; the candidates learn at their own pace and at a time more convenient for them and their employer, essential skills issues are covered, language difficulties are overcome, and trainer or assessors time with candidates becomes more effective.

The approach of ‘surrounding’ elearning with human contact enables the trainer to create high interest, accountability, and real assessment of the results of the elearning program.

Little 3 Creative Solutions develops elearning software for a range of industry, educational and community applications.Using visual imaging techniques the company can create low cost yet highly effective training and media solutions – interactive CD’s, training manuals, digital brochures, presentations, instruction manuals and bespoke solutions.
