floor care course
December 1st 2004

It was very much a case of back to school for the caretakers of Woodlands School in Harrogate when Granwax Products provided training on how to clean and restore the buildings multipurpose hall.

The course, designed to improve the overall standard of wood floor refurbishment, is offered free-of-charge to all local authorities.

The 200m2 school hall is used for assembly, sport and dining and had become well worn, with peeling seal around the edges.

The caretakers learnt how to clean the floor using Granwax Swift Cleaner to remove dirt and grease without damaging the wood. When neutralised and completely dry, the floor was abraded using 60-grit sandscreen discs. The final stage was to protect the floor with Granglaze wood seal, compatible with the original oil-based finish and which is said to offer outstanding durability and ease of application.
