BCC announces keynote environmental speaker at Conference 2011 July 27th 2011 The British Cleaning Council has announced that Dr. Peter Redfern of Nottingham Trent University will be addressing the BCC Conference 2011 on how businesses and other institutions can implement large-scale sustainability projects.
The session will take place on 11th October 2011 at Kings Place, where up to 400 high-level delegates and 10 official exhibitors will form the audience at the award-winning conference hall and exhibition space in London’s Kings Cross.
Mark Woodhead, Chairman of the British Cleaning Council, said: "We are very pleased to have secured such credible representation from the green movement. Dr. Redfern is Principal Lecturer in Environmental Biology and Module leader for Sustainable Resource Management. In addition to his work at the University, Dr Redfern is the Managing Director of the University spin out company Loreus Ltd, and a Director of EcoCampus, a National Steering Group on sustainability.
Earlier in June Nottingham Trent University was named as the most environmentally friendly and ethical education institution in the UK. The university topped the People & Planet's annual Green League published in by the Guardian newspaper, with the judging panel praising the university for its commitment to becoming a low-carbon and low-energy institution.
Dr. Redfern joins previously confirmed speakers scheduled for the day, which include Daniel Finkelstein, Executive-Editor of the Times, and Norman Baker MP, Secretary of State for Transport. Each speaker will be addressing issues of sustainability and social responsibly for modern businesses.
