Cameras catch messy dog walkers
November 30th 2010

A private detective agency is using spy cameras to catch dog walkers who can't be bothered to clean up after their pets, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Investigator Mark Halstead, 35, uses all-weather infra-red cameras hidden in trees and hollowed-out stones.

The father-of-two, whose agency normally tracks down people having affairs, has already shopped one woman who was dumping her dog's mess outside a school.

Currently he is offering his services for free around Milton Keynes, but hopes to offer his service nationwide.

He said: "People are using us to shop known offenders who have been getting away with it for a long time.

"Dog fouling is filthy and dangerous to children and we won't tolerate it."

He has film of 30 offenders which he is set to pass on to the council which could fine owners £1,000.
