Electric benefits January 29th 2010 Electrically heated pressure cleaners are a ‘must have’ item in the food industry because they eliminate risks of fumes and fuel contamination. Kranzle says its electrically heated cleaners have huge benefits over the other traditional models that are available.
The old method used by others is the ‘kettle’ system. A tank of hot water is pre-heated by an element (just like a kettle) and then fed through a high-pressure pump.
Economically and practically, there are drawbacks with the old kettle system:
There is a delay while waiting for the water tank to reach the required temperature.
Output temperature can drop below the required minimum as cold water enters the holding tank.
Pumps fed with hot water need more maintenance as hot water reduces the life of the pump seals, ‘O’ rings and valves.
There is wasted energy in heating any unused water.
Kranzle uses post-pump heating coils to heat the water after it has been pressurised. The advantages are clear:
This is a continuous process without a pre-heating tank.
A stable output temperature is achieved
No waiting before cleaning can start.
Pumps are reliable and require less maintenance because they are fed with cold water.
