All aboard for ISSA INTERCLEAN 2010
April 13th 2010

ISSA/INTERCLEAN is the largest international trade show for the cleaning industry. It is organised by Amsterdam RAI in cooperation with the global sector organisation and its American partner ISSA. It offers a complete overview of the latest developments in the international cleaning sector

Seminar Programme

Every visitor to ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam can expand or deepen his/her professional acumen by attending the educational seminar programme. Seminar subjects include sustainability, hygiene as the keyword for pandemic prevention and the impact of the global economic crisis on the cleaning industry.

Monday 26 April 2010 – sustainability and trends

The theme of sustainability is a key theme at the trade show and for the seminars. On Monday 26 April, Dr. Steven Spivak (US), Pierre Costa (Europe), Clive Damonze (Africa) and Alan Hardcastle (Australia) will give their vision on the developments of sustainability and green technology in four different continents. Trend watcher Adjiedj Bakas will show attendants the trends for the coming years and their impact on the cleaning sector during the Innovation Award Ceremony.

Tuesday 27 April 2010 –‘measuring is knowledge’ and reducing illness-related absenteeism

The Nederlands Nationaal Seminar (Dutch National Seminar) will demonstrate that the ‘measuring is knowledge’ principle is being picked up by the cleaning industry thanks to the application of smart sensor technologies and the remote, online monitoring of locations. During the second discussion forum on the ‘power of the cleaning industry’ Chris Cracknell, Andreas Lill, Hans Sanders and Paul Stöver will demonstrate how essential a clean working environment is to reducing absenteeism due to illness.

Wednesday 28 April 2010 – conflict of loyalty and preventing a pandemic

Manufacturers (Kärcher, Ecolab) and end users (Boma BeNeLux, Vebego) will provide their visions on the changing relationships between manufacturers, distributors and end users during economically uncertain times. Where is the loyalty? During the pandemic seminar, Thea Daha, Stephanie Dancer and John Rigalsford will – on the basis of their own experiences – show how hygiene in the hospital and food industries is the best way to prevent a pandemic.

Language and costs

All the seminars are in English except the Nederlands Nationaal Seminar. The latter is in Dutch, but will be simultaneously translated into English. Tickets cost £50,00 for ISSA members and £100,00 for non-ISSA members and also provide access to the trade show unless stated otherwise. These tickets provide access to all the seminars.
