Hospitality and hygiene partnership September 30th 2009 Environmental Biotech (EB), national hygiene cleansing service provider, has formed a partnership with UK hospitality company, Whitbread, to create WHR Facilities Management (WHR FM). The new service will maintain Whitbread’s premises nationwide.
EB, based in Maldon, Essex, has operatives working across the country servicing over 1,700 Whitbread outlets which include Premier Inn Hotels, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Tay Barn restaurants and Costa Coffee outlets.
The formation of WHR Facilities Management is the result of a partnership that began just over three years ago when Whitbred was seeking a consolidation of solution providers for the problem of fats, oils and greases (FOG). FOG is a by-product of commercial and domestic kitchens across the UK. Residues form solids that cause blockages and greatly affect the efficiency and workings of both pumping stations and treatment plants. The Environmental Biotech system introduces live bacteria into the drainage network that significantly help to keep the drains flowing clearly.
“At the time we had six regional contractors managing our drainage issues through a combination of reactive and planned maintenance," explains Tony Reddy, group maintenance manager at Whitbread. "We met Environmental Biotech and they introduced us to their live bacteria solution. After a successful trial, their products and services were rolled out through our entire estate.”
WHR FM ensures continuous monitoring and maintenance of premises with technicians addressing a cross-section of maintenance issues nationally.
“We plan to develop the management of a range of facilities and are already working on a selection of services that we can add into the premises that will benefit all divisions of the WHR FM family,” comments Aziz Tejpar, chief executive of Environmental Biotech.
