Flush-wiser from PHS Washrooms supports LOYA 2009 May 26th 2009 PHS Washrooms has announced that its award winning WC flush-control device, Flush-wiser, is supporting this year’s Loo of the Year Awards (LOYA). Flush-wiser saves up to a third of the water used, every time a WC is flushed. PHS Washrooms says the gadget is already helping many businesses and organisations to reduce WC water usage. It not only reduces water and sewerage costs, but also helps achieve sustainability targets.
Designed by PHS’ award winning Product Design Team, Flush-wiser won the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Award for New Product (Innovation) 2008. Flush-wiser is also on the Water Technology List, is WRAS approved and has recently been awarded the Waterwise ‘Marque’ in recognition of its water saving benefits.
LOYA is now in its 22nd year, and has successfully shone a spotlight on away-from-home toilets, with organisations up and down the country entering the awards hoping to win one of 60 separate award categories. All organisations across the UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland are encouraged to enter LOYA, which is run independently by the British Toilet Association (BTA). The awards are a cost effective way of enabling entrants to receive an independent assessment of the standard of their toilets, with winners enjoying local and national media coverage.
"We are delighted to have 'Flush-wiser from PHS Washrooms' on board as a Loo of the Year Awards Supporter for 2009," says Mike Bone, MD of LOYA. "As one of the UK’s leading washroom services providers, PHS' presence as an award supporter will aid us in our drive to raise the profile of these awards and the raise the standards of away-from-home toilets.'
