Golden Service Awards attract entries
June 25th 2009

The organisers of the Golden Services Awards 2009 have announced that this year’s programme attracted an impressive number of entries from both large and small, in-house and contract cleaning companies throughout the UK. In all, there were 138 entries for the fifteen categories. The Best Cleaned Premises – Offices above 15,000ft square – category attracted 38 entries alone.

“We did think that the economic climate would affect this year’s results but that hasn’t been the case at all,” says Michel Le Borgne, marketing manager, UK & Ireland at Kimberley-Clark Professional. “The judges are now in the process of conducting the site visits, and from the quality of the submissions we received, we know it will be a hard task for them to determine the final winners.”

In addition to the large number of entries received overall, the Golden Service Awards 2009 organisers were pleased to see some excellent entries for the Service Delivery Innovation of the Year category which is new this year.

The first stage of judging was carried out by an independent panel including representatives from The Cleaning and Support Services Association, The British Cleaning Council and the British Institute of Cleaning Science. Innovation, staff management, training and client relationship were among the main criteria to be assessed and it was not the size of a business that was judged, but the quality of the service provided.

The winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Friday 30 October 2009. Comedian Rhod Gilbert will be performing.

If you would like to book tickets for this event, please contact the Golden Service Awards on 08000 192 422. Alternatively e-mail gsa@suzannehowe.com. Tickets will be priced at £100 plus VAT.
