Tork Elevation washroom dispensers win design award
February 3rd 2009

The Tork Elevation washroom dispenser line from SCA has won an iF product design award.

“We are delighted to receive such a prestigious award,” says SCA Tissue Europe’s UK and Ireland marketing director Jenny Turner. “The fact that iF is an internationally recognised trademark for outstanding design – and that Tork Elevation dispensers were chosen out of more than 2,800 entries from 39 nations –makes this a great achievement and one of which we are very proud.”

The iF design awards were established in 1953 in Germany and are presented annually by the iF International Forum Design. This year’s awards cover 16 categories including telecommunications, furniture, lighting, computers and bathroom/wellness, the category in which Tork Elevation received its award. The new dispensers were created by international designer Thomas Meyerhoffer who has worked with leading brands Apple, Porsche and Nike. The line launches in February 2009.

The Tork Elevation range comprises 16 dispensers for paper towels, toilet paper, liquid soap and air fresheners, it is designed to be visually pleasing and user-friendly. The dispensers feature a large, semi-transparent window that provides an attractive, seamless design while allowing the facilities manager to tell at a glance when they need refilling. Some models have side-opening panels, and built-in spirit-levels in larger dispensers make them easier to mount. A dual-setting lock that allows the janitor to choose to open the dispensers either with a key or push-button. They are made from recyclable plastic and packed in recyclable cartons, and each dispenser naturally reduces consumption of the product inside while also being sufficiently robust for long-lasting performance.

Tork Elevation dispensers may now go on to win a coveted iF Gold Award, which will be presented to the top 50 2009 iF award winners. Gold Award winners will be announced on March 3 at an official presentation ceremony.
