No slips with Slingsby
March 5th 2009

The Health & Safety Executive has re-launched the Shattered Lives campaign which aims to reduce slips, trips and falls in the workplace. Approximately a third of all workplace accidents are caused by slips and trips and a large number of these are due to wet or contaminated conditions that are caused by bad housekeeping and poor flooring.

Slingsby, the industrial and commercial equipment provider can supply a range of products to help prevent accidents and injury to your staff and customers and offers the following advice:

• Improve grip on your floor surfaces with anti-slip tapes and treads, which are resistant to oil, detergents and weather conditions.

• When cleaning areas use the appropriate wet floor signs to highlight dangers to staff and customers.

• During inclement weather conditions, make sure appropriate entrance matting is used to restrict floor surfaces becoming wet and slippery.

• Ensure employees have appropriate footwear, so they can move around safely whatever the weather.

With over 35,000 items, the new Slingsby catalogue is out now, Click here for further information and a copy of the catalogue.
