Giant graffiti removed from Tate Modern
October 30th 2008

The largest ever operation to remove graffiti from a London landmark is now underway claims Tensid. The Tate Modern commissioned six graffiti artists to draw the murals on the building’s river façade for a three month exhibition which finished last month.

Tensid customer, Graffiti Busters has been busy removing the extraordinary giant graffiti exhibition. Some of the walls had previously been coated with Tensid’s sacrificial anti graffiti coating, Graffi Coat 1, which allows the graffiti to be removed by simply using hot water under moderate pressure – in this instance with the Aquila TD352 complete with dual operation.

In other unprotected areas, the graffiti is being removed using a non hazardous, water based paint stripper in conjunction with the Aquila water recycling machine, this enables waste water to be contained, recycled and re-used.
