iDCS achieves Registered Trade Mark status
November 27th 2008

City & Kent Cleaning has announced that the latest addition to the Group – Intensive Deep Clean Systems – has now been successfully recognised as a Registered Trade Mark.

Launched in March this year, the iDCS service is available to hospitals that clean in-house, as well as to those who contract out. Shortly after launch iDCS appeared in action in BBC TV’s Panorama. This, together with high profile appearances at healthcare exhibitions and infection control conferences during the past months, and coupled with the high level take up of the service, convinced City & Kent of the merits of protecting the brand.

The iDCS service comprises ward deep cleans, especially of beds and the surrounding curtains, cleaning and sanitising hospital equipment such as trolleys, fans and wheelchairs, clinical cleaning of operating theatres, isolation and anaesthetic rooms, as well as public area cleaning such as washrooms.

Techniques include steam decontamination of surfaces, ultrasonic cleaning, air management, zone control matting and overshoe protection to prevent transfer of micro organisms. There is also the provision of a microfibre service for efficient daily cleaning using water only, which includes the controlled laundering of used cloths.

Clients may decide for themselves which elements of the iDCS menu they require in order to prevent infection on the wards, and which aspects will best integrate with their existing cleaning service.
