Tiny, but mighty... Auto-door handle cleaning for hospitality July 30th 2008 In previous editions of Cleaning Matters we told you of a new product on the European market, the HYSO automatic door handle deep cleaning system. Designed for use on any high-contact door where the risk of cross contamination is high (e.g. washrooms in medical facilities, care homes, supermarkets, schools etc.), the system comprises an automatic, battery-operated dispenser containing a canister of EU-approved, quat-based aerosol surface disinfectant which, according to the company, kills 99.9% of a range of bacteria including E.Coli and MRSA. At pre-set intervals the system delivers a burst of quick-drying formula that continues to work even between sprayings.
At this month’s ISSA North America, HYSO is launching a smaller unit, called HYSO Micro, which has been designed with high-end hospitality and corporate customers in mind.
Simon Sassoon, Managing Partner of HYSO said: “Our original unit was designed for the ‘professional’ and public sector markets: functionality and absolute effectiveness were our key goals. However many restaurants and hotels approached us, asking for a smaller unit that would also look great in their washrooms. So we designed HYSO Micro which delivers the same clean door handle experience, but with a cutting-edge design.”
Available with black, white, chrome or gold finish, HYSO Micro is now available in the US and in Europe.
Also in the summer, HYSO gained a significant first, when it set a precedent by becoming the first company to have an automated delivery system of disinfectant for non-porous, hard surfaces recognized and approved by the US’s EPA.
