Purazone purifies perfectly
August 28th 2008

Purazone, developed by Signature Aromas, is a UVC system which destroys over 99% of all air borne viruses and bacteria.

The stainless steel housed, portable unit has undergone extensive developments with Microsearch Labs, a specialist independent company. Purazone says that Microsearch was able to confirm that in one hour the Purazone unit processed 1 air passes from a room measuring 25’ x 15’ x 8’, killing over 99% of all air borne bacteria. It showed no growth or mutation after 5 days.

Signature’s British made system; incorporating UVC light and natural oils, helps to eliminate hazardous airborne bacteria. The company believes that it would be especially useful on hospital wards and in nursing homes, where patients have a weakened resistance to infection. Other commercial uses have been in open-plan offices, staff rooms or communal areas such as waiting rooms or reception areas where the spread of viral infections are prone.

“Obviously we are delighted with the test results and have included a twin speed motor which allows the unit to operate on a ‘tickover’ level making the unit quieter, and more suitable for smaller rooms or intensive areas," says Brian Chappell, managing director. "These units are incredibly useful in helping reduce the spread of infection and have been built with low servicing and running costs in mind.”

The unit can be used with or without Signature’s range of natural oil impregnated bio-degradable disks which help to fragrance room space. The company says popular aromas are Tea-tree oil which has its own natural anti bacterial properties, Ocean, Spring Meadow and Citrus.
