Water recycling pressure washer cleans up in Liverpool
April 30th 2008

The Paradise Project – a regeneration project covering 42 acres in the heart of the Liverpool – is due to be opened in May 2008. It is the largest construction site currently in Europe, and poses some serious cleaning problems. Luckily, pressure washing specialist Tensid is helping to solve them.

Matrix Contractors were experiencing practical problems in cleaning the 55,000 m2 of new underground car park flooring. The firm asked Tensid to help with both the practical and time consuming difficulties.

Tensid responded by taking its Aquila water recycling pressure washer to demonstrate its capabilities. The company claims the machine is "unique" in the UK, developed exclusively by Aquila in Denmark.

Matrix had cleaned an area of 160m2 which had taken four men 8 hours to clean! Using the Aquila machine to clean the same size area, it took two men just 30 minutes – quite a result.

In addition they previously had to constantly refill the water tank then dispose of the dirty water by using tanks and a fork lift truck. This was clearly impractical, time consuming and costly.

With the Aquila TD302REC water recycling machine and floor cleaning tool, there is no need to refill the water tank as the machine collects waste water, filters then recycles it allowing the same water to be used again and again. In addition there is no water splashing.

Matrix has hired the machine from Tensid to clean not only the car parks by also the external areas in combination with Tensid’s Safety Klean new build cleaner, a hydrochloric acid free cleaner. All in time for the Paradise Street complex in Liverpool to be opened by Her Majesty the Queen in May.

Many contractors and local authorities find that hiring self contained pressure washing equipment to be both a practical and economical way of dealing with certain specific cleaning projects. Tensid provides a hire service for the Aquila trailer-mounted, self contained hot water pressure washers, including the recycling machine described above.
