Greener washrooms from MacLellan
October 30th 2007 In partnership with MacLellan, Green Planet Solutions will be providing eco alternatives for washrooms in 12 Prupim shopping centres by the end of December.
MacLellan will implement the Eco-Cube waterless urinal system and environmentally friendly GPn2 and GPn3 cleaning ranges into all 12 shopping centres, helping them to offer chemical-free washrooms. Some of the centres will also install bio degradable and aerosol free air fresheners, as well as the Veltia, an energy efficient hand dryer that GPS claims is twice as fast as a conventional hand dryer yet uses less electricity.
Clare Raybould from MacLellan Interserve believes that the agreement will be the first of many steps, as shopping centres act to reduce their environmental impact.
"The eco alternatives that we are implementing into our washrooms will reduce water wastage, as well as save energy and eliminate the need for paper towels, chemicals and aerosols, which are all harmful to our environment," says Raybould. "These changes will not only reduce the shopping centre’s impact on the environment but also save money in the process."
