Fight seasonal viruses November 27th 2007 Between 600,000 and 1 million people in the UK are effected by Norovirus each year which is why air treatment specialist Signature Aromas has developed Purazone, a unit which has been proved to kill a number of airborne viruses and bacteria.
Noroviruses are also known as the 'winter vomiting disease' and spread rapidly during the winter months, due to the fact that people spend more time indoors. It is commonly found in contained environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, offices and schools, where it can easily pass from person to person and target those with low or weak resistance.
Signature's Purazone unit works by drawing the air into its stainless steel unit and exposing it to UVC light, which kills the DNA of air-borne bacteria before expelling it as cleaner, purified air back into the atmosphere. No artificial elements or chemicals are used in the process and if desired, Signature's natural oil impregnated discs can also be used to help create a more ambiance aroma to communal areas, wards or private rooms.
The portable unit has been subject to extensive tests with Microsearch Labs, a specialist independent company, where they were able to confirm that in one hour the Purazone unit processed 3 air passes from a room measuring 13' x 10' x 8', killing in excess of 99% of all air borne bacteria and showed no growth or mutation after 5 days.
