New anti-bacterial compound for Shoes for Crews
May 29th 2007

Shoes for Crews latest breakthrough consists of a specially formulated anti-bacterial compound which, when added to the footwear and mats, acts as an anti-bacterial treatment for the elimination of harmful pathogens, bacteria, fungi and viruses.

The company says it expects it to be extremely popular as health, hygiene and the risk of spreading harmful bacteria and microorganisms become increasingly sensitive issues. The compound is the ability to prevent cross-contamination while also helping prevent slip-fall accidents in all work environments.

Shoes for Crews use a rubber compound that grips to the microscopic roughness of floor surfaces. The diamond grid pattern which appears on the sole of all non-slip safety footwear and safety mats works especially well when dealing with spillages of water, oil, chemicals and animal fats, providing unequalled slip resistance by channelling liquids away from the bottom of the sole/mat.

Wet and greasy areas around sinks, dishwashers, fryers and food and drink production areas are extremely difficult to keep dry, therefore the use of Shoes for Crews non-slip footwear and safety mats are especially useful if dealing with fryers, grills, sinks, cold storage areas, bar and restaurant facilities, kitchens and canteens, bakeries, butchers, cleaners and production sites.
